Sick of the Shower

Dear Mouthy Mommas,

I have glass shower doors and I simply cannot get them clean, no matter how much I scrub and scrub. I've tried comet, bleach, vinegar, soft scrub. I have worn myself out trying to get the hard water stains removed.

HELP!!!

Sick of the Shower

Dear Sick of the Shower,

I hear ya! I have found that depending on the quality of glass, they either come clean or they don't!

Try spraying them first with Tilex soap scrum remover and then take a Mr. Clean magic eraser and wipe the doors down really good. Let it set for a little bit and then rinse. Squeegee them off and use Cinch instead of Windex to finish cleaning them.

If your doors have that spiderweb appearance after this, I would say unfortunately that is as good as it gets. If it drives you that crazy, you could always "accidentally" break the glass and purchase new glass doors! ;)

Good luck!  May your glass always sparkle without a pain in your ass!

Gonna end up an Outlaw

Dear Mouthy Mommas,

I'm getting married in October and need your advice!  My soon to be sister in law doesn't have a spot in the wedding.  She's a nice girl about my age but I have my entire wedding party mapped out with my friends and family.  My soon to be mother in law wants my fiancee and I to "add another" bridesmaid/groomsman to give her a spot.  I'm SO not doing that!  We get along great but aren't really close enough for me to do that without feeling awkward.

Any advise on how I can make everyone happy (including me)?

Gonna end up an outlaw

Dear Outlaw,

Almost every girl’s dream is to have a beautiful, extravagant wedding where everyone enjoys themselves and there are absolutely no flaws on your big day. Hey, I’ve been there. The planning is stressful, costs boat loads of money, and takes FOREVER - so what is supposed to be the most important day of your life (thus far) should be absolutely perfect. This sounds great in theory. However, you’re mixing some powerful personalities with some strong opinions.

Aw, yes, the things your mother never told you about your big day.

1       1.   There are flaws

2      2.   It is stressful

3       3.   Almost NOTHING goes as planned

But girlfriend, as long as you’re marrying your soul mate, none of those things matter. The minute you walk down that isle and see your man at the end of it with the biggest smile on his handsome face it won’t make a difference who was standing next to you in one of those bridesmaid’s dresses no one will ever wear again or which groomsmen is still hung-over from the night before. You aren’t doing this for anyone else, but you and your soon-to-be husband.
My advice would be to get on a plane to some exotic location and go get married on the beach – just you and your man. However, since the wedding is just three short months away I am sure this won’t work with the reservations of the church, flowers, minister, etc. So instead, explain to your sister-in-law that you love her very much and cannot wait for her to be your sister. Let her know that just because she’s not in the wedding party doesn’t mean that you don’t appreciate her and the relationship that you have and are going to create. After all, you get to spend the rest of your lives together, as sisters.
And quit worrying about trying to make everyone else happy and focus on yourself for your big day! Best of luck on your big day!
Hugs, Katie, TMM
